Upon entry, customers meet a retail display and counter service area.  Floor-to-ceiling windows capitalize on natural light, with overhead lights positioned to accentuate key areas of service. Clean lines, floating white oak shelving, and copper hardware showcase the product and coffee-making process.

The hallway connecting Lumine’s counter service area to the seating area features curved walls with a Venetian plaster finish and a single line of neon along the length of the ceiling. WAO's strategy was to employ texture and light to animate the passage and create an inviting connection between service and seating.

Throughout Lumine, the design uses subtle arches, gentle corners, wood accents and light features for an airy and open feeling without being cold. WAO sourced furniture and materials that aligned with the client’s desired aesthetic while also meeting the demands of a busy cafe.
